Reflection
I remember getting birthday cards when I was younger. I don’t really remember any of the beautifully Hallmark-ian inspirational messages inside. Mostly I remember that some included money! Not all did, however, but I guess I was at that age where I’m sure I wondered, “Is there something more”?
Today, most of my birthday cards don’t include cash. The inspirational messages are still there, though. And I find I even remember a few of them. They might even evoke a deeper feeling I suppose.
It seems to me that faith is like that a little bit. When our faith is younger, it’s nice to see the miracle, the cash if you will. It might even be necessary. But as faith matures, it become less about seeing, and more about believing, with total certainty.
Don’t get me wrong. There are a few places in my life where I pray I could “see” a miracle. But then I wonder if that means I don’t trust that God’s perfect plan and timing. I am continually learning to trust, even when there is no cash in the card, there truly is something more!
Verse
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.Hebrews 11.1
You know it when it hits you, that feeling that everything is going to be OK. Everything will turn out all right. The feeling that calms your soul and eases your worried mind. This is faith. It’s like the old Allstate commercial, “You’re in good hands with Allstate”, only these are God’s hands holding you.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Help me to understand you are at work behind absolutely every situation, making good come from every circumstance, for the good of everyone involved, not just me. Give me the willingness to accept the things that I cannot see in this life, holding on to the belief that there definitely is something more.

With the advance of cultural indifference, or even hostility toward religion and spirituality, our Church has been a little slow to respond. We depended on each generation to evangelize the next generation, and often enough, other cultural values eclipsed the message of the Gospel. We hope that our "Like and Share" project might reach some folks who are searching for something deeper in life. Perhaps some will even join us at Mass for another look.
